Salomon Malamute

The Salomon Malamute is Salomon’s top of the line boot in their Authentic line. The Malamute is designed for aggressive freerider boarders who want a stiff flex for immediate response. The Malamute features a biocage frame to achieve this. The boot also features Salomon’s Sensiflex sole and Powerlace Pro lacing system.
Riders love the Malamute, making it one of Salomon’s best sellers for several years in a row. Riders report even after multiple seasons, that the boot retains its stiff flex. One rider did report that these boots did not fit well with his Burton bindings, so that may be an issue to look out for. The Salomon Malamute comes in Salomon’s full range of sizes and 2 color schemes: Black (pictured) and Black/White.

Very good boots but the powerlace lacing system was awkward.

I bought my 1st pair of Malamute’s in 2001, and my 2nd in 2006. I live in the mountain west and ride evey day there is new snow. My first pair remains my go-to boot for snowshoeing, while I ride in my 2nd pair.
I chose the Malamute first, because I read of 2 Iditirod mushers who wore the boot for their race. Figured if it met their demands, it would work for me. Turned out to be so true!
I pretty much point my board down the hill and - all day, in all conditions - this boot is simply the very best. Warm, responsive, stiff - but with great “feel” - and takes a real big licking and keeps on ticking.
Doubt I’ll ever wear anything but a Malamute.
